1. Coconut milk and Lemon juice
- 50ml coconut milk
- 1 lemon juice
Let the mixture sit in the fridge overnight.
In the morning, apply it to your hair, from root to tip.
Leave for half an hour.
Rinse with cold water, then wash your hair with a mild shampoo, preferably.
This treatment is recommended once a week.
A little extra: the pleasant smell of coconut perfumes your hair during the day.
2. Coconut Oil
- Used in the form of oil, coconut can be applied directly, even on frizzy hair.
- Put it in a spray container and dampen your hair with it in the morning.
- Or mix 30 grams with your regular conditioner and use as usual.
- Prefer organic coconut oil.
3. Warm Castor Oil
- 1 tablespoon ofCastor oil
- 1 tablespoon of coconut oil
Heat until the mixture is lukewarm.
Apply from roots to ends and massage the scalp for a few minutes.
Leave to act for 1/2 hour.
Rinse with cold water then wash your hair with a mild shampoo.
You can do this treatment twice a week.
Variation: most vegetable oils have the same properties and can therefore be used. For those whose smell is not very pleasant, add a few drops of essential oil of your choice. This personalizes the smell.
4. Milk
In this recipe, it is the proteins that strengthen the hair and stiffen it.
Simply pour the milk into a spray container.
Spray your hair.
30 minutes later, you can rinse with cold water. Finally, wash your hair with your usual shampoo.

5. Olive Oil and Egg
Here we use the protein contained in the eggs to nourish the hair and the oil to revitalize it. Indeed, olive oil is known to restore shine to the dullest hair. By moisturizing them, it slows down their hair loss and aging. The tips are also reinforced.
With a slightly longer break time, this mixture can be applied once a week.
You need :
- 2 eggs
- 3 tablespoons of olive oil
Mix well and apply all over the hair.
After 1 hour break, rinse with cold water, and wash with a mild shampoo.
Tip: for those who don’t like the contact with the egg, simply add a little olive oil (about 30 grams) to your usual conditioner.
6. Milk and Honey
Tips that you can take advantage of every week. On the other hand, the 2 hour break time can be restrictive.
If again, we rely on proteins, we also expect the action of honey. Emollient, it captures the humidity that causes frizz and brings softness to the hair while fortifying it.
Plan:
- 50ml of milk
- 2 tablespoons of honey
Mix and apply to the scalp and hair to ends.
Wait two hours for the application to take effect.
Rinse with cool water and wash your hair with a mild shampoo.
Note that the mixture of honey, egg yolk and olive oil is also recommended.
7. Rice Cooking Water
In this recipe, it is the properties of the starch that we are looking for. To do this, collect the cooking water from your rice in a spray bottle.
As a mask, leave on for an hour.
The carbohydrates contained in the starch will act and smooth the hair.
Use a mild shampoo.
You can also simply use this water to rinse out your shampoo, especially if you do this regularly. In this case, leave the starch to act for only 3 to 4 minutes.
To know:
- It is not recommended for people who want to keep volume, because this treatment weighs down the hair.
- We prefer organic rice.
8. Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar multiplies the effects. With it, we combine an aid to hair growth, but also a fortifying effect and a rebalancing of the capillary pH. Finally, it has a disinfectant effect on the scalp.
So, all you have to do is prepare:
- 2 tablespoons of cider vinegar
- 1 glass of water
Make your shampoo, then apply the mixture from the root to the tips.
Let it dry naturally.
9. The Technique of Kardoun
Originally from Kabylie (Algeria), the kardoune is a long ribbon that women use on dry hair to protect the hair during the night.
Brush your hair carefully.
Apply a few drops of vegetable oil (broccoli oil is known for its smoothing properties, but also for leaving hair soft and shiny).
Tie the kardoune to a rubber band.
Pull your previously prepared hair into a low ponytail through the elastic.
Wrap the kardoune around your hair along its entire length and then close by making several knots. It must be tight.
In the morning, undo your hair, it is ready and smooth.
This can be done every night, if needed, or 2-3 times a week, depending on the initial curl.
You find kardounes for sale on the internet.
Tip: some replace the kardoune with a bathrobe belt or tights.
10. Wet-Wrapping
For this technique, you need:
- An elastic
- Flat pliers
- Spray water
- A protective net
After washing your hair, separate it by drawing a parting on the side.
Strand by strand, comb then straighten the hair flat and fix it with the clips.
Moisten them as you go to facilitate the operation and keep them very docile.
Cover all of the flattened hair with the protective net.
Leave it like this all night.
When you untie them, you enjoy soft and smooth hair.
