We would all like to have clean skin, without blackheads, pores or acne, but we all know that it is not that easy. They say it’s the little things that matter, and this is doubly true when it comes to skin care. What else should you not forget?
1. Sheets and their effect on the skin
This may seem like complete nonsense, but it makes sense. Every night we sleep on our pillows for several hours with our faces literally pressed against the pillow. Now imagine all those bacteria that are stored there. That’s why we should change our sheets , especially pillowcases, at least once a week. Another tip is to have satin sheets that are hypoallergenic.
2. Sleeping on your back
We will stay with that sleep. Sleeping on your back not only prevents the accumulation of bacteria in the sheets, but also prevents premature aging. Because, again: the pillow is not pressed against the face and does not create small wrinkles.
3. Cleaning the phone
Again, a complete detail, but even that will make a huge difference. Millions of bacteria can be transferred to the face when talking on the phone or even using it normally, so we should clean our phones and their screens regularly, preferably every day.
4. Grabbing the face
The same as with the phone booth – the more you pick your face, the more bacteria are transferred to the surface of the skin and thus form acne.
5. Dairy products
If you really don’t know how to deal with rashes anymore, try to limit dairy products such as cheese, cottage cheese or yogurt and replace them with alternatives such as almond milk and yogurts made from soy or coconut milk. Milk is proven to increase inflammation in the body, resulting in reddened skin and more rashes.
6. Excessive skin care
They say that too much of everything is harmful, and this is also true for the skin. The more preparations you ingest, the more you can irritate your skin. Especially if you use things with a lot of fragrance, essential oils or alcohol. So the next time you notice that your skin has gotten worse and you have more breakouts than usual, switch to basic products like cleansing gel, cream and sunscreen.
